Physical therapy is now a booming business that has come a very long way in a very short period of time; in fact it’s one of the fastest growing industries in the world. New physical therapists are entering the field every single day to treat the ever growing pool of people requiring treatment for all different kinds of injuries and ailments.

Injuries are a fact of life, not just for professional athletes but for regular people too. An elderly person who slips in the shower and breaks a hip, or the dock worker that injures his back lifting heavy box after heavy box or the middle aged woman that gets banged up in a hit and run collision all require the services of a properly trained physical therapist.

Where are Physical Therapists Employed?

The answer to this question could go on and on – Professional, amateur and college sports teams often employ their own physical therapists. Hospitals, free clinics and nursing homes all may also one or more physical therapists on staff.

Specialists in sports therapy, specific types of injuries or bariatric care may operate their own office and see several patients from varying backgrounds a week.

There are a multitude of different specialties and paths that are available within the wide field of physical therapy, and that means that there is an ever widening array of physical therapy equipment and physical therapy supplies available, so that every general and every specialized physical therapist can have everything that he or she needs to be able to properly treat the injury of what ever patient happens to walk through the door next.

Tools of the Trade

Sports therapists use probably the widest variety of physical therapy supplies to deal with everything that they may encounter on a daily basis. A sports therapist needs to be prepared to handle everything from the minor aches and pains that their athletes incur on the field every single day, but they also need to be prepared to deal with the rehabilitation of serious injuries that require surgeries and sometimes months of treatments to heal.

A large sports therapy treatment center will often almost appear to be over run with equipment. There could be a fully stocked hydrotherapy section with standing and seated whirlpools; mobility stations complete with parallel bars, standers and stair training equipment; and most will also have a full array of massage therapy equipment with massage table and chairs as well as a variety of creams, oils and other massage therapy supplies. Many specialized physical therapists today are also certified in one or more types of massage therapy as well.

Depending on the particular area of specialty, a physical therapy clinic may even have a variety of x-ray and imaging equipment available as well as a full array of chiropractic supplies and massage therapy equipment so they can be as full service as possible to their potential clients.

Regardless of the avenue of specialty a physical therapist chooses, he or she will surely need a wide variety of equipment to be able to perform the job to the best of his or her abilities.

Getting the best result possible from a physical therapy session, whether it’s just to work on a strained muscle or rehabilitation from a major surgery, requires not only an adept therapist but also the best possible equipment for the method of treatment. That’s why there are so many options available and why new and better ones are being developed and implemented every day. Physical therapy is a very involved and precise trade, one where perfection is an absolute must in order for the correct outcome to be achieved – so for as long as the trade of physical therapy continues to be a booming one, most likely so will the development of new pieces of physical therapy equipment.

Physical therapy equipment provider offers physical therapy supplies including massage tables, medical equipment, and chiropractic equipment. When doing research for massage therapy tables, consider Source1 Medical.

Have you ever got into your car and noticed your windshield was dirty? I have noticed my spotty windshield for a couple days now. You know the kind- dried dead bug splat (how does it dry within a split second anyway-and it wasn’t even a 100 degrees yet), other finer dots and smudges of unknown origin, etc. When I first get in my car,the dirt is more obvious. As I begin driving I quickly forget about the dirt on my windshield-in fact I don’t even see it. The next time I may notice it is when I once again sit down in my car- before I begin driving. Isn’t it amazing how when I’m driving I don’t notice my windshield-unless of course a bug decides to fly a suicide mission right into my windshield. Then my attention for a split second goes to my windshield (if I kept my attention on my windshield for too long I may run into someone ahead of me).

I find something similar to people and their bodies. Often people will come in with a complaint-let’s say lower back pain. I will do a complete chiropractic evaluation and find a problem (subluxation- a term when our spine is out of proper alignment and interfers with the flow of energy/information between the brain and a part of our body) in a place the person didn’t report or even know of. In this example, let’s say I found an additional problem in the neck. Because everything is connected it is possible the lower back pain is related to the condition in the neck-a condition the client wouldn’t have even know about unless there was an awareness. In this case – a symptom. Symptoms or pain for many people is like an annoying bug buzzing around-distracting us from enjoying life or getting something done. If this pain could talk what would it say?

If my windshield could talk it would probably say “clean me”. Of course I will push the button and out comes the cleaning solution. Sometimes it cleans better than other times ( I guess it depends on the chemical composition of the dead bug). But what if my windshield could talk? What if I refused to listen and just go about my day? At the very least- my windshield would get dirtier wouldn’t it? Let’s say I have a high tolerance for dirt and I am not so easily swayed by the mounting blotches and dead bug remains. In fact, instead of driving my car in the daylight (which illuminates or exposes my dirty windshield), I decide to drive my car only at night-or on overcast days.

This is how many of us unknowingly care for our bodies. It’s not till we have built up so much stress, distorting our posture and life line (a.k.a. spinal chord), blocking out our bodies many cries for help that finally a symptom is too big or too annoying to ignore. We are definately experts in not listening to our own bodies. We keep our lives jammed with one thing after another; or if we do get a ’symptom’ we reach for Big Pharma’s special chemical concoction-not considering what message our body maybe trying to communicate to us.
What’s really cool is-and when it’s not too late- a symptom-or even better- a spinal adjustment refocuses our attention. A refocus to the windshield called our body. So much of our attention is outside our bodies. So the times we get a spinal adjustment (or for some people on some occassions, a symptom) it is a time we may see, hear or feel things we didn’t know about. This is one way and practice of staying healthy. In life we are going to come into contact with bugs-or symptoms. Our windshield-or body is going to require our attention. The question becomes- do we love ourself enough to have a daily, weekly or monthly practice of checking in on our bodies without the mounting presence of symptoms? The gentle form of chiropractic I offer (and receive) is one such practice. Next time I will go over some things that have resulted due to a better connection achieved thru this practice. Till then -enjoy your windshield!

Chiropractic treatments always elicited lot of interest and debates in the medical professionals as well as among general public. There are lot of misconceptions that shroud chiropractic treatments. Here are a few common misconceptions.

Many consider that chiropractic Houston treatment does not have any scientific base and that cure through chiropractic treatment is a myth. Contrary to this misconception, chiropractic Houston treatment has scientific base and we cannot deny that our spine plays a great role in our physical well-being. If someone wants to practice as a chiropractic Houston they have to be qualified and licensed. If there is no scientific base in chiropractic theories, then one cannot be possibly licensed to practise what is not proved. Licensing authorizes the validity of this form of treatment. So the next time you are looking for a chiropractor Houston, make sure you find a licensed chiropractor.

Secondly, even those who believe that chiropractic works, think that chiropractic can cure only back pain and back related problems. Though chiropractic is highly effective in treating back pain and other back related problems, they are also equally effective in treating a number of other medical conditions. They are highly effective in treating several musculoskeletal ailments such as low back pain, arm pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, upper back pain, weight lifting injuries, arthritis, etc. It can also be used for a number of other ailments that do not have musculoskeletal ailments and some such diseases include ulcers, asthma, headaches including migraine, dizziness and infantile colic, etc.

Another major misconception that is associated with chiropractic is that chiropractic Houston treatments are risky and that it can lead to other spine related problems. This can be true with every other form of medicine. All forms of medicines have their own side effects because of the medicines used. Chiropractic Houston is one of safest treatment methods. However, you must make sure that you find a reliable, qualified and experienced chiropractor Houston to treat your medical condition.

Many people are also under the wrong impression that when you go for chiropractic Houston treatment, you must be visiting your chiropractor Houston all your life. This is yet another clear misconception. The number of visits to your chiropractor will gradually reduce and once you are cured of your condition, you need not have to visit your chiropractor but just continue to follow their instructions to ensure that you enjoy continued good health.

Despite all misconceptions, chiropractic Houston treatments have been able to help hundreds of people through successful and effective treatment. There are many successful chiropractors in Houston. All these misconceptions should not stop you from enjoying the benefits of chiropractic. If you are still doubtful or not sure about using chiropractic Houston, the best way to deal with it is to have a consultation with a chiropractor Houston. After the consultation you will be able to decide whether chiropractic treatment is for you or not. Visit Chiropractichouston.com for a free complimentary consultation with one of the top chiropractors in Houston who has over 10 years of experience in the chiropractic system.
